Crisis Point

Hello:

I'm so sincerely sorry about this lag in posts. It feels like ages since my last post. Due to a rather severe argument with my spouse, I was forced to find a separate living space, which, as any New Yorker can tell you, is like a waking nightmare. Little sleep, lotta stress, no real relief. I haven't been able to keep up with most anything. And it feels like the hits just keep on coming. So the blog took a backseat. I was feeling like it wasn't received well and it was rather disheartening. While the blog was up for me, I had hoped putting myself out there would smoke out like-minded folks. It sort of worked, and it's kept me going seeing that people seem actually interested in commenting and offering up suggestions. All that being the case, I'm going to attempt to get back to it with new help and a newfound confidence. After all, starting from scratch in 2 weeks flat is sort of a reinforcement of one's own resilience.

CONFIDENCE PEOPLE!!!

By the way, Fashion Week is underway and one of the blogosphere's very own, Laurel, is smack in the middle of the action (It's all on Camille's blog)! Congratulations, lovely girl! We're all rooting for you!

Dream Girl

I love the L Word and my favorite character is Shane McCutcheon, played by Katherine Moennig. I really love her style and the effortless cool she exudes.

It Ain't No Thang...It's a Hair Flip

The people at my job drive me INSANE sometimes. I sometimes sit there and plot my vengeance and get all steamy over it...grrrr. But then, I realize that tenuous situations are merely a test and I have to use it to my advantage, and let it go. Comme ci:

LMAO...so...did the hairflip work for you??

Little Green Dress

This is one of my favorite articles of clothing. Shapeless, swingy, and with pockets to boot. I'm also wearing my favorite boots! Comfort, my friends. Comfort while working at my crappy job. Oh...the luxury of a non-recessive economy...if only I could QUIT.

One of the downsides to this dress is its habit of riding up underneath my coat...I mean, showing leg is fine...so long as you can control it. No one likes flashing people THAT much.

Bon weekend!

Outfit thrown together for a casual jaunt about town. Been sick as a dog with very little energy to do anything, let alone take photographs. (Adenovirus--A POX ON YOU!!!) So anyway, when I get better, should be back on track. Hopefully the larger photos help show a bit more detail. Now to find some better locations...

Jacket over Jacket over Jacket

Worn to Brunch with family. Which could be interpreted as a good (but very expensive) idea gone wrong. But, it worked out in the end and at least we had some great food!

These are my new snow boots, making their first blog début. These were mostly bought because I have one pair of lug-soled boots and they're not very warm. These are MUCH better, and provide for jean tuckage--not a word, but always a plus. Can't wait to destroy them on the salt/snow/ice. Pardon the crappy face--I was kind of pissed in these photos, sorry; recovering from the flu. I've been a cranky mess all weekend.
