I went shopping yesterday...picked up several things, and put them all down in hopes of doing some closet cleaning and cutting down on the high-maintenance/low-exposure items I tend to splurge on. So I got some basics, instead. Still mourning the loss of my beautiful babies...you suck MMJ!
Today, the weather cleared up; no rain as predicted! So...hoping to drop off my laundry to get it washed, since I so hate doing it, and go out, take some photos, and enjoy the sunshine and warmth with a good friend. Sometimes it's nice to recharge your batteries by doing absolutely nothing, whatsoever. Keeping my energy positive; it's that kind of day. :-)

sniffsniff
So after an egregious miscalculation, my damn Marc Jacobs beauties will NOT be adorning my feet this spring and summer. It's like crushing on a guy for weeks and weeks, and finally working up the nerve to at least SPEAK to him, and as you reach up, shakily to offer him flowers as a token of your affection, he informs you, awkwardly, that he is gay. OR perhaps that's my own mucked up version of what happened, lol.
Luckily, I'm not completely out of luck b/c I've found an angel who's agreed to take them off my hands. Thank you, fellow shoe-whore. Anyway, I've cheered myself with a couple of planned purchases. Anyone on the harem pant trend? I'm not sure I can pull it off, but I found a pair by Swedish designer Lovisa Burfitt via eBay (of course) that I think I'd like to purchase. Only one problem: based on the price, this would def be considered an 'investment' piece, and I'm not sure if a trendy item should be considered thus. Hmm...to splurge, or not to splurge...Got 23 hours to decide.
In other news:
This girl is so rad:
Jane of SeaOfShoes
Obviously, the name got my attention, but her style continues to uplift and inspire me every day. She's gorgeous.

ugh
Not sure why I thought it would be a fantastic idea to go out drinking with a new co-worker, bar hop, club hop, then get SHMAMMERED on a Monday night. Except I was devoid of any emotion that was not incited by the term VODKA. hmm...wonder if I'm alcoholic yet...
Oh yeah, Tuesday sucked too. Early-week hangover sucks WAY more than weekend hangover...alas, I had to work. Must work to support shoe habit. Which will pay off TOMORROW when my lovely new babies arrive. F*&% yeaaaaaahh. Almost makes the whole AchilleanVSMan situation tolerable. Why are men--even perfect ones--capable of such f*%$ery?
Shoes can't come soon enuf. Like a retail band-aid...

plaid
Haven't worn this dress in awhile, so broke it out to stay comfy in the crappy rainy weather this morning. It's since cleared up and my new Doc's got to see the light of day. Sorry for the mean mug. Forgot to smile and the timer went off.
Boots: Docs, Dress: Tramp, Shirt: Tresics, Random blue tights and beige knee highs.
This picture makes me happy:
Bizzy of Chictopia and Lookbook fame
Amazing style inspiration. Every time. EARLY. lol.
good vibes...
Woke up today feeling positive, happy, albeit very tired. My life has been in flux, and yet, in spite of it all, I feel so pleased to be who I am, so blessed to have what I do, the friends I know, the family I love. While I am learning to live and love myself, I am also learning that it is entirely possible to feel completely lost in the middle of the exact location you were meant to be in. You just need to adjust your perspective sometimes. We all wake up in the morning hoping to live up to our own expectations and dreams; at times we fall short, but cheers to maintaining the stride, walking the walk, and faking the funk until we get it right and LOVING ourselves all the more for the frailties that make us all so unique.

Sunrise on the Weekend
Looking forward to my 2 days of solace. Anyone have any ideas on what to buy a boy for a birthday? I work in NON-PROFIT--so that Breitling I was thinking of just got struck from the list. *Sob*. I'm SO clueless on such matters...
This is really goofy and I feel like a prize fool, but...I think I'm going to audition for the 'short' Top Model tomorrow in NYC! Terrified, I must admit, and feeling like the rejection may be too much for me to bear, but hey, I'm not doing anything else tomorrow, and it COULD be a lot of fun! Or...I could have my feelings dashed against the rocks of reality. Wish me luck!
“With each sunrise, we start anew”
Have you ever really seen a gorgeous perfect sunrise in all it's glory? Especially over water? I grew up on a farm and seeing the sun come up every morning over the hills used to bring me such tremors of hope and joy; it's an almost inexplicable feeling, watching the sun rise and set, knowing it's out of your control and being so inspired by it that you try your very best to face the day with an open heart, a fresh mind, and a sense of tranquil courage that nothing can dampen. Get up early, stay up late; just take a look at a sunrise whenever you get a chance. It could change your whole outlook!
Know where to find the sunrise and sunset times and note how the sky looks at those times, at least once.

F*&^ My Life...
Today, I found out that I am 14 weeks pregnant. The father of the baby is now engaged to my best friend, whom he was cheating on me with when I became pregnant. I'm going to be the maid of honor, 8 months pregnant with his child, at their wedding. FML
Today, I came home early from work to surprise my son with a new mountain bike for his birthday. To keep it a surprise I carried it quietly up to his bedroom. As I opened the door I heard my son say "Oh man, you're gonna make me cum" to the nice girl he was on top of. He just turned 14. FML

Still obsessing
Still in awe of the shoes...
Although they're pretty cool, I'm thinking of investing in some Doc's instead. These, while awesome are novelty shoes, and while I love me some novelty, I feel like I'd only be able to do them in Spring...maybe early summer before it gets too hot and I break out actual sandals. And of course if I change my mind, there's always good ol' google on my side to fix it. The amazingness of the interwebs.

New Treasure
FINALLY UPDATES!!
So...while shopping while I shouldn't have, I came across these lovely babies on clearance and a size too big. Who am I to turn down beautiful shoes, however, regardless of size? I don't discriminate if I don't have to. And while I'm nearly a hundred bucks in the hole, I'm still seriously debating keeping these shoes...Any thoughts?
Went a little crazy with the photos tonight, but means I'll probably be updating more regularly in future. Found a photog! And HELLO to my first follower! Please forgive my negligence. Real life has been trying to kick my butt left, right, and center.
Oh Deer's Smith Shoe. Mmmmm. Reminds me quite a bit of a Ming vase. They were rather pricey at DSW, but I'd never seen anything like them before. I never really liked the whole open-toed boot trend...but these were just show stoppers. Grabbed them for fear some other soul would get them. But now, economic crisis and my own poverty considered...aaaargghhh; pressure!
Please offer words of wisdom! I can't help myself! How did you all enjoy fashion week?
